Strowman vs Lesner Match Cancelled from WWE Royal Rumble
WWE Universal title match between Brock Lesner and Braun Strowman is now cancelled.
As it panned out on RAW, Strowman shattered the window glass of Mr McMahon’s Limo while chasing Baron Corbin. As punishment for destroying his Limo, Mr. McMahon has cancelled Strowman’s title match against Brock Lesnar.
Strowman had surgery on his injured right elbow in November last year. Since then, while he had made appearances on WWE but has not performed in a match. It seems like he is still not cleared for matches and WWE has written the cancellation of the match in such a manner.
RAW opened this week with a shot of Mr McMahon entering the backstage area in his Limo. Braun Strowman made his way to the ring and claimed that it was Lesner who asked Baron Corbin to attack him from the back which led to hand injury. Baron Corbin entered the arena and asked Strowman to stop lying.
Strowman chased Corbin to backstage but lost him. Strowman got the clue from Elias’ song that Corbin is in McMahon’s Limo. Strowman shattered window glass of Limo using a steel pipe and pulled out the door. Corbin popped out of the other side and ran away.
Mr McMahon arrived at the scene and fined Strowman with $100,000. When Strowman protested, Mr McMahon cancelled his Royal Rumble title match as a punishment.
Later, a fatal 4-Way match is announced between John Cena, Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Finn Balor to determine the no. 1 contender for WWE Universal Championship Match at Royal Rumble. Check here for more updates and match results from this week’s RAW (14 Jan 2019).
