Shawn Michaels Lazy Eyes

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michael is one of the legendary wrestlers in the history of wrestling. He is regarded as one of the best in-ring performers who had great performances and memorable rivalries throughout his career.

However, despite his skills, the Heart Break Kid often became the talk of the town due to his crossed eyes. He even incorporated his Lazy eyes gimmick for some comedy in DX days.

Shawn Michael himself revealed that this injury happened back in 2004. He returned and faced Kane, aka ‘The Devil’s favorite Demon’ in a No Disqualification at Unforgiven PPV. In that match, Shawn Michaels was speculated to have damaged his retina while taking a bump.

This is when the wrestler started facing the problem of his lazy eye. And with time and after taking a few more heavy bumps, his lazy eye became even more noticeable.

WWE was clever and used Shawn Michaels’ injury in a feud against Chris Jericho back in 2008. Chris Jericho was behaving as a great heel as usual and was revealed to be the culprit behind Shawn’s crossed-eye by sending him face-first into his Titantron 500.

WWE presented it as a career-threatening injury and also teased that Shawn Michale might not be able to compete. Both Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels worked on this program for several weeks and this rivalry received a great response from the fans.

Shawn Michaels had this eye injury since 2004. However, it never became an obstacle in his career. Right before his retirement, Shawn Michael delivered two of the greatest matches of his career against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25 & WrestleMania 26.
