Cousins Clash at Clash of Champions 2020 for Universal Title

Roman Reigns vs Jey Uso Univesal Championship at WWE Clash of Champions 2020

A cousin vs cousin match is setup for WWE Clash of Champions 2020 PPV between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. Uso won the #1 contender match at SmackDown this week defeating Matt Riddle, Sheamus and King Corbin in a fatal 4-way match.

Earlier, WWE announced Big E for the match with Riddle, Sheamus and Corbin. However, Sheamus attacked Big E backstage and the New Day Powerhouse had to be taken out in an ambulance. Paul Heyman then used his influence to get Jey Uso into the match.

Jey started the match in blockbuster fashion by super-kicking Corbin out of the ring and then sending Sheamus out. The match continued in a fast-paced manner with all 4 men taking turns to take the control. The contest even turned into a tornado tag match sometimes with the heels Corbin and Sheamus working in tandem against Riddle and Jey.

At the end, Riddle caught Sheamus in the Bro-mission but Jey hit the Uso splash to get the pin.

Roman Reigns opened SmackDown tonight with Paul Heyman to cut a promo. Later, Jey caught up with Roman and tried to remind him of his past encounters with Heyman, but Roman told him that he got it covered.

After Jey was announced for the match, he went to Roman to thank him for the opportunity. Roman replied with an underhanded comment that Jimmy Uso would have definitely won the match but he is not sure about Jey, showing some tension with his cousin.

WWE Clash of Champions PPV will air on 27 September 2020 from Amway Center in Orlando, FL. This is the second match to be announced for the PPV after WWE Championship between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre. (Updated card can be seen here).
