Finn Balor has turned heel by attacking Johnny Gargano in the post-match segment after Roderick Strong was able to retain the NXT North American Championship at NXT episode of 23 October 2019.

Finn Balor returned to NXT on the 2 October 2019 edition of the show. Although he did not work any match at the brand since then, his vignettes kept airing regularly. In last week’s vignette, Balor told us that his past will be his future in NXT.

Another important event at this week’s NXT was the North American Championship match between Roderick Strong, Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic. The match was set after the no. #1 contenders match between Lee and Dijakovic was ended in a disqualification by interference from Strong. After Keith Lee took out Dijakovic with an Avalanche Spirit Bomb, Strong sneaked on him with a sick kick. Then, he was able to successfully pin Lee to retain the title.

Post-match, the rest of The Undisputed ERA members came out and celebrated. Then, Tommaso Ciampa came out to confront them, followed by Johnny Gargano and Finn Balor. As three of them looked like taking it to Undisputed ERA, Balor hit a Pele Kick on Gargano out of nowhere.

A shocked Ciampa was attacked by The Undisputed ERA. Balor also continued his attack with a dropkick on Gargano into the barricade. He finished the show with DDT on Gargano, spiking his head into the entrance ramp. This will be the first time that Balor will work as a heel ever since his NJPW days.
