Dolph Ziggler return to WWE & assaulted Kofi Kingston
Dolph Ziggler has made his return to WWE after 4 months and assaulted the WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods welcomed back their teammate Big E tonight at SmackDown and had a promo with Kofi’s opponent for the night Sami Zayn. As Kofi was about to enter for his match, we get to see that Big E is attacked was someone backstage. He told us that it was Kevin Owens who attacked him. Kofi entered the ring for the match as Big E was taken to the hospital accompanied by Xavier Woods.
As Kofi sent Zayn packing after winning the match, he was distracted by Paul Heyman who came out with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Dolph Ziggler took the advantage and attacked Kofi from behind. He went on to assault Kofi for some time using the steel chair and stopped only after Kofi was incapacitated. After Ziggler left, Kofi was being taken out on the stretcher.
Dolph Ziggler last appeared on WWE at Royal Rumble match in January. Ever since he was on a hiatus with WWE to concentrate on his career as a Standup Comic. His return has obviously caught everyone by surprise with the heel turn only adding to it.
Later in the show, Ziggler explained his attack on Kofi. He went on to say that instead of Kofi replacing Ali at the Gauntlet match back in February, it should have been him. It should have been him who should have got the spotlight instead of Kofi ever since. He also told us that he will defeat Kofi to become the WWE champion at Super Showdown. The match however is not yet confirmed by WWE.
