Cesaro Signs New WWE Contract & Nakamura’s Status With WWE

Cesaro has reportedly signed a new contract with WWE, as per the latest report.

Earlier, Wrestling Inc reported Swiss Cyborg’s contract with WWE is set to expire in April. Now, the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter is saying that Cesaro has signed a new contract, or had at least verbally agreed to it.

The contract is said to be a multi-year deal. However, it can be expected that deal will not expire before April 2024.

Adding more to this, Dave Meltzer noted that Daniel Bryan originally picked Cesaro for the marathon run in the Universal Championship #1 contender match last month. Since Cesaro had not agreed to a new deal at that time, that spot went to Shinsuke Nakamura.

Cesaro has defeated Daniel Bryan twice since then. Cesaro and Bryan fist-bumped on this week’s SmackDown after Cesaro’s win.

WON’s report also added that WWE has not followed up with Nakamura being pushed as a top babyface since he wasn’t originally pegged for that spot. Nakamura is basically in the same position as before, however as a babyface.

It was added that Nakamura has been told that his role is to make new stars.
