Big show Signs with AEW

Big Show will be working with his real life name Paul Wight in AEW. He has signed a long term contract to wrestle with the company as well as to be a commentator on the new AEW “Dark: Elevation” series.

Wight left WWE after his contract with the company expired sometime in January after his appearance for RAW Legends Night on 4 January 2021. He was shifted to WWE’s Alumni section reportedly on 19 February 2021. Big Show’s last match in WWE came on the 20th July 2020 episode of RAW where he lost to Randy Orton.

PWInsider.com is reporting via their sources that WWE and Wight were unable to come to terms on a new deal financially. Wight was not happy with the treatment he got on RAW Legends Night.

Big Show was seen being verbally bullied by Randy Orton in a backstage segment. Orton gave the same treatment to other veterans as well, like Mark Henry and Ric Flair. PWInsider stated that Big Show was very open that night about his unhappiness about the situation.

Big Show was trending #1 worldwide on Twitter after AEW’s announcement of his signing.

Adding to the news, Fightful Select reported that someone close to Paul Wight has told them “a big life change” was expected from him. His Netflix show – The Big Big Show(which was produced by WWE Studios) was done and he just sold his home. The person imagined that a major career move was expected.
