Asuka vs Becky Lynch for SmackDown Women’s Title at Royal Rumble 2019

Asuka vs Becky Lynch Royal Rumble 2019

Becky Lynch will try to regain her SmackDown Women’s Championship title as she will take on the champion Asuka at Royal Rumble on 27th January 2019.

Earlier, Becky lost the title to Asuka at the TLC PPV last month in a triple threat match Ladders Match between Becky, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair. Apparently, Ronda Rousey interfered in that match when Becky and Charlotte were on the ladder trying to retrieve the title belt. Ronda sent the ladder down, resulting in Becky and Flair crashing at the ringside.

Asuka then clinched the opportunity and climbed the ladder to retrieve the title belt to win the match. Becky will now get the opportunity to win her title back as she beat Flair and Carmella in another triple threat match for the no 1 contender match for the title shot at Royal Rumble 2019.

Last week, WWE tried to get Becky over with the mainstream audience when they let her confront John Cena. Becky went toe to toe with Cena in the promo and staked her claim to be the next big Superstar at WWE.

Later, they both took on Andrade Almas and Zelina Vega in a mixed tag team match. In the dying moments of the match, Becky threw Cena out of the ring after he took down Almas and put Vega in DisArmHer for submission and win. After the match, Becky again taunted Cena with the “You can’t see me” when he put his hand forward for a handshake. Later in an interview, Cena praised Becky’s attitude and tipped her to be a big superstar.
