5. Braun Strowman vs Bobby Lashley
Storyline- Despite the feeling that we have seen this match too many times, this is another one of those matches with no actual storyline between them. All the times they have faced off recently, have been in the tag team matches. They showed a bit of tension during the fatal 4-way match this week on RAW, but that is it in the name of setting up this match.
Prediction- Both of them are not being pushed as the heavyweight stars they can be. But still, Braun Strowman has slightly higher stocks than Lashley due to being a face. Lashley will only win if their storyline has to continue further forward.
6. Kofi Kingston(c) vs Dolph Ziggler – WWE Championship Match
Storyline- This feud has also landed out of nowhere into Ziggler’s lap. Kevin Owens refused to travel to Saudi for this event and since his feud with Kofi is set to continue for some time, WWE needed a stopgap opponent for Kofi. Sami Zayn could have got the spot but he is also not allowed to travel to Saudi. Ziggler has tried to sell his sudden inclusion on the pretext that he should have been getting everything that Kofi has got in the last few months.
Prediction- Kofi will resume his storyline with Kevin Owens after this match. So now way, Ziggler is winning this one. Kofi to retain the title.
7. 50 Men’s Battle Royal
Prediction- There is only one name that comes to my mind to win this match is Drew McIntyre. No other major star is even going to be in the match.
8. Finn Balor vs Andrade – WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Storyline- Andrade defeated Finn Balor in his first match after being drafted to RAW during the Superstar Shakeup. When Balor got drafted to SmackDown the next night, we might have seen the last of this feud but then Andrade was drafted back to SmackDown. This time, it was Balor’s turn to defeat Andrade. They were also in the Money in the Bank match where Andrade hit some big moves on Balor. Although, by that time, it was already announced that Balor, in his Demon King persona, will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Andrade at Super Showdown.
Prediction- Balor has never tasted defeat in WWE Main roster whenever he has come out in his Demon avatar. If he gets defeated here, it will be as big of a shock as Lesnar winning the Money in the Bank. Finn Balor to retain the title.
9. Seth Rollins(c) vs Baron Corbin – WWE Universal Championship Match
Storyline- While Rollins was worried over Brock Lesnar cashing the MITB briefcase, WWE decided to hold a Fatal 4-Way match to determine his challenger at Super Showdown. As soon as Brock won the briefcase, most of the people were expecting him to cash it for the Universal Championship match in Saudi. But WWE has decided to prolong Lesnar’s tenure with the briefcase. On the other hand, Baron Corbin won the fatal 4-way match to face Rollins.
Prediction- WWE definitely wants to push Corbin to the top which is surprising to me because I thought McIntyre deserved this more than him. But regardless, it is hard to see him winning the title at least now. Rollins will win the match but will need to watch his back as Brock Lesnar will be around.
