Japanese Wrestler Riho has defeated Nyla Rose to become the first AEW Women’s Champion on the premiere episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT.

AEW Dynamite premiered on TNT last night from Capital One Arena in Washington DC. The show featured the first-ever AEW Women’s Title match between Nyla Rose and Riho. Nyla Rose won the Casino Battle Royal at AEW All Out 2019 pre-show to qualify for the match. Similarly, Riho defeated Hikaru Shida to get the other spot in the title match.

Riho and Rose put on an excellent match where Riho was portrayed as the fast and agile underdog trying to overcome the sheer power of Rose. Near the end of the match, Riho took advantage of Nyla Rose going to the top rope and hit a superplex. She followed it up with running knees and got the pin to become the first-ever AEW Women’s Champion.

Now, Riho will make her first title defense as the AEW Women’s Champion in Philadelphia on October 16 at the Liacouras Center for the AEW Dynamite episode.
