Riho vs Britt Baker Announced for AEW Women’s Title Next Week
AEW has announced that AEW Women’s Champion Riho will be defending her title vs Britt Baker at next week’s AEW Dynamite episode.
Dynamite will air its third episode from Liacouras Center in Philadelphia on 16 October 2019. The Women’s title defense was already announced earlier along with the AEW World Championship title defense and first-round matches for the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament. But it was not clear that who will be challenging Riho.
Britt Baker earlier won the first-ever women’s match in AEW at Double or Nothing which was a fatal 4-way match between Kylie Rae, Nyla Rose, and Awesome Kong. She would later face defeat in a tag team match to Bea Priestley and Shoko Nakajima at Fight for the Fallen when she partnered with Riho.
Riho has only faced defeat at Fight for the Fallen only and has won matches at Double or Nothing, Fyter Fest, All Out and then at AEW Dynamite debut episode where she won the AEW Women’s Championship by defeating Nyla Rose.
This week at Dynamite, Riho and Britt Baker defeated Bea Priestley and Emi Sukara in a tag team match. AEW later announced that Riho will be facing Baker for her first title defense. The lineup for next week’s show is as follows:
- Chris Jericho(c) vs Darby Allin – AEW World Championship Match
- Riho(c) vs Britt Baker – AEW Women’s Championship Match
- SoCal Uncensored vs Best Friends – AEW World Tag Team Titles Tournament First Round Match
- Lucha Bros vs Jurassic Express – AEW World Tag Team Titles Tournament First Round Match
