UFC Vegas 83: Gabriel Santos Out, Jean Silva vs Westin Wilson Set
Jean Silva is scheduled to have his first UFC bout against Westin Wilson at UFC Vegas 83 event filling in for Gabriel Santos who withdrew from the fight.
As per Laerte Viana’s report on Instagram, Gabriel Santos won’t be competing in his scheduled bout against Westin Wilson. The reason for Santos’ withdrawal hasn’t been disclosed. Jean Silva has stepped in as his replacement for the fight.
Jean Silva’s upcoming match marks his UFC debut which he earned through Dana White Contender Series 2023 event, triumphing over Kevin Vallejos. Silva enters UFC with an impressive eight-fight winning streak. Before his victory against Vallejos, Silva also secured a win over Shahin Najafi at Spartacus MMA 34 event.
Westin Wilson participated in one UFC match which came at UFC Vegas 76 event, where he faced Joanderson Brito and experienced a knockout loss. This defeat marked the conclusion of Wilson’s previous four-fight winning streak.
UFC Vegas 83 event is set to take place on January 13, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV. A bantamweight bout is also set for the event, where Ricky Simón will face Mario Bautista.
