Jose Chepe Mariscal

Jose “Chepe” Mariscal is reported to be set to make his UFC debut at UFC Jacksonville on 10 days notice.

Eurosport’s Marcel Dorff broke the news that Victor Martinez is out of his fight against Trevor Peek. He also added that Jose Mariscal is now set to step in to replace Martinez in this lightweight bout to face Peek.

Chicago’s Mariscal is a black belt in Judo and Japanese Jui-Jitsu apart from being a 3-times National Kickboxing Champion. Mariscal also has wins in Muay Thai along with a record of 19-1 in amateur MMA.

Mariscal currently holds a record of 13-9 in pro-MMA with appearances in LFA, Cage Warriors and Combate Global. He is currently on a 3-fights winning streak with knockout wins over Luke Faultersack at Cage Warriors 133 and Guilherme Faria at LFA 153. He also has wins over UFC fighter Youssef Zalal and Pat Sabbatani outside the promotion.

Alabama’s Trevor Peek made his UFC debut earlier this year in February against Erick Gonzalez on a Fight Night event. He was contracted after a knockout win in Dana White Contender Series 2022. He is currently undefeated in MMA with 8-0 record.

UFC Jacksonville, or UFC on ABC 5, airs on June 24, 2023, from Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL. Josh Emmett vs Ilja Topuria featherweight bout headlines the event.
