UFC 305 PPV is announced to take place in Perth, Australia, at RAC Arena on August 17, 2024(August 18 in local time). UFC Middleweight Championship bout between Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya will headline the event.

The event will start at 6 PM ET(6 AM ET Local) with an early prelims card. The prelims card will start at 8 PM ET(8 AM ET Local) and the main card will start at 10 PM ET(10 AM ET Local). The main card will be available via ESPN+ PPV in the United States, Main Event PPV in Australia, and TNT Sports in the UK.

On March 27, 2024, UFC announced that the promotion would return to Perth, Australia for UFC 305 PPV which would be the first of two events to take place in Perth this year. This would be the third UFC event in Perth.

On June 17, 2024, Israel Adesanya announced on his Instagram account that he would fight Dricus Du Plessis for the middleweight title at this event. The bout was subsequently announced officially by UFC. This would be the first time that two African-born fighters would clash in the title fight.
