Tatiana Suarez will not fight her scheduled fight against Amanda Lemos at UFC 298 event, as Mackenzie Dern will replace her.

According to the Orange County Register report, Dern is set to replace Suarez in the bout against Lemos due to an undisclosed injury. The specific details of the injury have not been disclosed.

Mackenzie Dern’s recent fight was at UFC 295 event, where she was defeated by Jéssica Andrade via KO. Before that, Dern defeated Angela Hill via unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 73 event. As of now, Dern’s UFC record stands at 8 wins and 4 losses.

Amanda Lemos’ most recent fight took place at UFC 292, where she suffered a defeat to Weili Zhang via unanimous decision in the women’s strawweight title bout. The loss against Zhang marked the conclusion of Lemos’ two-fight winning streak. Before that, Lemos secured a victory over Marina Rodriguez at the UFC Vegas 64 event, achieving a knockout.

UFC 298 is set to take place on February 17, 2024, at Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. A middleweight bout is also set for the event, where AJ Dobson will face Tresean Gore.
