Robert Whittaker vs Marvin Vettori Reported for UFC 275 PPV
Former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker(23-6) might face former title challenger Marvin Vettori(18-5-1) at UFC 275 PPV.
The bout was first reported by MMA Reporter Ariel Helwani. Various other MMA websites have confirmed the bout since.
Whittaker is coming off a loss against the reigning Champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 271. He earlier dropped the title to Adesanya at UFC 243. Between these two losses, Whittaker defeated top contender Jarred Cannonier, Darren Till and Kelvin Gastelum. In his recent appearance at MMA Hour, Whittaker said he is happy to fight against a new face in Vettori.
“Rematches suck, and preparing for rematches suck, especially when you lost the first one. The amount of work and the thought processes that go through the camp and everything like that, it’s a bit trying. So to break away from a rematch and to fight a new face, some new blood, yeah, it’s interesting.”

Whittaker also revealed that he is planning on having a third fight in 2022 after facing Vettori
“There’s a lot of things — just the date suits up, there’s a lot of things that I had planned for after the date. And I wanted to get three fights in this year, so hitting a potential fight in June is a good day for me.”
Marvin Vettori won his last bout against Paulo Costa when he headlined a UFC Fight Night event on October 23, 2021. The bout had to be changed to a Light Heavyweight bout after Vettori missed the weight. This bout came after Vettor’s loss to Israel Adesanya at UFC 263 in June 2021.
UFC 275 is scheduled for June 11, 2022, but the location is not confirmed for the event yet. Light Heavyweight Championship fight between Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka is in the plan to headline the event. Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko will also defend against Talia Santos.
