Modestas Bukauskas vs Zac Pauga Set on June 17 UFC Fight Night
Modestas Bukauskas and Zac Pauga are likely to clash in the coming months.
The light heavyweight bout is in work for UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, NV, on June 17. The report comes from Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.
This will be just the second bout for Modestas Bukauskas after he re-signed with UFC earlier this year. He first signed with UFC in 2020 and defeated Andreas Michailidis in his debut in July 2020. However, he lost his next three bouts to Jimmy Crute, Michał Oleksiejczuk and Khalil Rountree Jr., leading to getting released from the promotion in October 2021.
After being out of action for more than a year due to knee surgery, Bukauskas defeated Lee Chadwick at Cage Warriors 145. Just 8 weeks later, he defeated Chuck Campbell to win the vacant Cage Warriors Light Heavyweight Championship at Cage Warriors 148. After this, he was called back to UFC and defeated Tyson Pedro at UFC 284.
Zac Pauga was in the final of Ultimate Fighter 2022 season where he lost to Mohammad Usman, which was his first professional career loss. He defeated Jordan Wright at UFC Vegas 69 via unanimous decision.
June 17, 2023 UFC Fight Night is expected to take place at UFC Apex Arena in Las Vegas. Josh Emmett vs Ilia Topuria bout was earlier expected to headline the show but it is now postponed to June 24.
