Valladares vs Shigeoka, Taniguchi vs Jerusalem Results
Cejistas Valladares and Ginjiro Shigeoka will headline a boxing event at Edion Arena in Osaka, Japan, on January 6, 2023, featuring a pair of strawweight title bouts.
Valladares will defend his IBF Strawweight World title against Shigeoka in his first title defense. Valladares won this title from Rene Mark Cuarto in July 2022. Shigeoka(8-0) is a former Japan Commision Strawweight Champion.
In the co-main event, Masataka Taniguchi defends his WBO Strawweight World Championship for the second time as he faces Melvin Jerusalem. Taniguchi won the title last year in December from Wilfredo Mendez before defending it successfully against Kai Ishizawa in April this year.
