Teofimo Lopez and Sandor Martin battle to become a WBC mandatory when they clash on December 10, 2022, at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Lopez takes his second fight this year after beating Pedro Campa earlier in August, in a fight which was his Super Lightweight debut. That was also his first fight since losing the unified lightweight titles to George Kambosos Jr. in November last year.
Lopez was scheduled to face Jose Pedraza on this night, but Pedraza withdrew due to injury. Lopez’s clash with Sandor was already set as WBC ordered it as a mandatory challenger fight for WBC Super Lightweight Championship. Martin comes into this bout with two big wins over Mikey Garcia and Jose Felix. Will he cause another upset here?
