Lawrence Okolie and Chris Billam-Smith headlined a Boxxer event on May 27, 2023, from Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth, England

Okolie defended his WBO Cruiserweight World title Billam-Smith just two months after he defeated David Light in March 2023 via a one-sided unanimous decision. He maintained his unbeaten record which also has 14 knockouts. Okolie won this WBO title by beating Krzysztof Glowacki in March 2021. Okolie had also defended the title against Dilan Prasovic and Michal Cieslak.

Billam-Smith was on a 9-fights winning streak since his loss to Richard Riakporhe in July 2019. He was last in action to beat Armend Xhoxhaj for a knockout win in December 2022. His other two wins in 2022 came against Tommy McCarthy and Isaac Chamberlain.

The fight card was boosted by the presence of Issac Chamberlain in the undercard despite his opponent being changed now. Unbeaten Joe Pigford took on Sam Eggington in the co-main event while upcoming prospects Tommy Welch, Lewis Edmondson and Karriss Artingstall were also in action.
