Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall Results LIVE(Oct 15, 2022)
Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall clash at The O2 Arena in London, UK on October 15, 2022, to headline an All-Female card.
Shields and Marshall will have Undisputed Middleweight Championship stakes as Shields puts on WBC, IBF and WBA titles on the line along with Marshall’s WBO title. This clash is a rematch from a clash from their amateur boxing career, where Marshall defeated Shields. This loss remains the only loss for Shields in her entire boxing career- amateur or professional.
The bout was supposed to take place last month, but it was postponed as the country was paying respect to passing of Queen Elizabeth II. The winner between Shields and Marshall will also be awarded WBC Elizabeth II belt in honor of Queen Elizabeth II.
Another title unification is scheduled in the co-main event where Mikaela Mayer takes on Alycia Baumgardner. Mayer holds WBO and IBF Women’s Super Featherweight titles while Baumgardner has WBC and IBO titles from the same division. It is evident from their interactions during fight week that Mayer and Baumgardner do not like each other at all. And hence, an explosive fight is expected between them.
