WWE Monday Night RAW Live Results & Updates- 18 May 2020
King Baron Corbin is backstage yelling at someone from WWE crew because he doesn’t have his own private locker room. A referee approaches after Corbin sent for him. Corbin continues ranting about how he is not being treated right as the guest at RAW, how no one is bowing at him and all.
We get a pre-recorded promo from Liv Morgan. She says her mom is her hero. Her mom didn’t have a good job or much of a savings account, or a resume, but she had determination. A few weeks back she had a match with Charlotte Flair. She did not win that match but she did learn. She learned that she is just like her mother and she’s determined she will one day become RAW Women’s Champion.
Charlotte Flair vs Ruby Riott
Flair takes the mic and tells us that she is excited for her Champion vs Champion match against Bayley this Friday after Bayley and Sasha Banks challenged her this past Friday. Flair addresses Ruby Riott and tells her to come out and share what she has to say. The music hits and out comes Riott with a mic and have a staredown with Flair. We go to the break.
The match has already started as we return from the break. Flair gets some chops going. Ruby moves to the outside and sends Flair into the ring post. Charlotte counters and slams Ruby into the ring post and brings her back to the ring. She puts Ruby on the turnbuckle and Ruby fights back. She hits the backsplash to get a two-count.
Flair fights back but Ruby counters with a move and tries to lock in Flair’s wrist. Flair stomps on her in the ring. Riott ducks a running boot and rolls Flair for a 2 count. Flair blocks the Riott Kick and applies the Figure Four, bridges into the Figure Eight and gets the submission.
Winner- Charlotte Flair
Charly Caruso is with Bobby Lashley now. MVP interrupts them and tells us he and Lashley won’t be doing business together because right now Lashley is focused on the likes of Truth and his wife Lana. MVP says Lashley may be ok with not competing for the WWE Title in years. He also says that he is not trying to cause trouble between Lashley and Lana but he hopes Lashley will think about his future and when he will free himself. MVP walks off.
We get a recap of last week’s basketball game between The Viking Raiders and The Street Profits. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins are arriving to the axe-throwing contest which is tonight’s competition between the teams. Erik and Ivar are with some of their Viking re-enactors. There’s a fire going and Erik presents to them with the smoke. A few axes fly by Street Profits as we cut back to the arena.
Asuka’s Championship Celebration
Kairi Sane is in the ring which is decorated with balloons. Sane introduces the new RAW Women’s Champion Asuka. Asuka takes the mic and thanks Sane for the bouquet that she presents her. Asuka mentions Becky Lynch becoming a mother and says she’s so happy. Sane tells us how Asuka is a Grand Slam Champion. Asuka starts dancing around and Sane plays a flute for celebration.
Nia Jax interrupts them. Jax tells Asuka that there is nothing to celebrate because Asuka was handed the title by Becky. Jax goes on to threaten Asuka and Sane steps up to her. Jax tells Sane to take a chill pill. Asuka immediately attacks Nia with some kicks. A Hip Attack knocks Jax to the floor. Asuka yells at her as Jax stares her down from the ramp now.
