Becky-Asuka & Cain Velasquez Expected for Royal Rumble

The match between WWE RAW Women Champion Becky Lynch and Asuka is expected to take place at Royal Rumble 2020 along with the return of Cain Velasquez for the Royal Rumble Match.

Ever since Kabuki Warriors’ win over Becky and Charlotte at RAW episode of 7 October episode, it became apparent that WWE is returning towards a feud between Becky and Asuka. The two teams once again met at WWE TLC 2019 main event where Kabuki Warriors retained their Tag Team Titles.

Now, Dave Meltzer, at Wrestling Observer Radio, reported that Paul Heyman has called for the return of the rivalry between Becky & Asuka. Meltzer revealed that WWE actually planned the feud to reignite after WrestleMania itself. But by the time WrestleMania came, the feud was forgotten.

Becky Lynch cut a fierce promo at RAW episode this week where she called out Asuka to face her in a singles match. She also insinuated that WWE is trying to protect her by not booking her against Asuka.

Dave Meltzer also noted that Cain Velasquez is set to appear at the Royal Rumble 2020. Although, he did not make it clear whether Velasquez will be part of the Men’s Rumble match or whether WWE has some other angle planned for him.

Velasquez made his WWE debut at SmackDown’s FOX premiere episode. He later faced WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel in a losing cause. The match was pretty short and it was said that Velasquez was dealing with an injury at the time.

Since then, Velasquez has only appeared in a tag team match with Humberto Carrillo in the Mexico City Live Event.
