WWE Universal Champion The Fiend Bray Wyatt attacked Daniel Bryan backstage during this week’s SmackDown episode in London.

Daniel Bryan has been poached by Sami Zayn to join his stable. Sami Zayn has reportedly been out of in-ring action due to some shoulder issues but has been working as the mouthpiece for Shinsuke Nakamura. In recent weeks, Cesaro has also started featuring alongside them. In the last three weeks, Zayn has been trying to align Daniel Bryan with them.

This week at SmackDown, Zayn was once again trying to persuade Bryan in the locker room when the light started flickering. Some might have missed that it was the indication for the arrival of the Fiend. The lights would finally go out completely and when they come back, everything was red.

The Fiend Bray Wyatt finally appeared behind Bryan. Sami Zayn, who was standing opposite to Bryan, got a good look at the Fiend and snuck away immediately. The Fiend then attacked Bryan and put him out with the Mandible claw. This was Fiend’s first SmackDown appearance since becoming the WWE Universal Champion.

It is currently not clear whether this is the start of a storyline between Bryan and the Fiend. But, it might also be the case that the Fiend is letting everyone know that we have a new ruler of the Universe, as he promised on WWE Backstage earlier this week.
