Becky Lynch Tops PWI 100 Annual Women List for 2019
Pro Wrestling Illustrated has named WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch as the number 1 Women wrestler of the year in their annual 2019 Women’s 100 list.
During the time period considered for the list, 1 October 2018 to 30 September 2019, Becky Lynch has definitely been the hottest female wrestler. Some might even argue that she was the hottest wrestler during this period. Becky Lynch entered October 2018 as the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. She lost the title at TLC 2018 in the main event match to Asuka.
Becky later won the WWE Women’s Royal Rumble 2019. She went on to main event WWE WrestleMania 2019 and became the first double women’s champion in WWE. She won the WrestleMania match against Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey, number 2 and 3 on PWI 100 list for 2019.
Becky Lynch missed out on the top 10 in the PWI 100 Women’s list in 2018. Ronda Rousey topped the list last year when the list was expanded from top 50 to 100. Asuka was the topper in 2017. Out of the top 10 women in the 2019 list, 7 are from WWE. Tessa Blanchard, Mercedes Martinez, and Nicole Savoy are the only non-WWE wrestlers on the list.
