Velasquez was accompanied by Rey Mysterio who was attacked by Brock Lesnar on RAW episode of 30 September 2019. Lesnar also attacked Mysterio’s son Dominic during that segment, which led to Dominic being hospitalized.

We were told that Velasquez is Dominic’s Godfather and came to avenge by taking down Lesnar. As Velasquez hit the ring, he tackled down Lesnar in the typical MMA style and forced him to run off. Velasquez and Lesnar earlier faced off in UFC in 2010 where Velasquez took the UFC Heavyweight Championship from Lesnar by defeating him in under 4 minutes of the first round.

Match Description:

This was the first match for Cain Velasquez in WWE. The match felt more like a MMA bout with both men trying to get blows on the midsection. Lesnar took Velasquez to the corner where Velasquez was able to hit a low blow. He followed it up with a roundhouse kick on Lesnar’s head to take him down. However, Lesnar countered at the moment and put Velasquez in the Kimura Lock. Velasquez tried to fight but was forced
to submit after a few seconds.

But the rivalry between Mysterio, Velasquez and Lesnar look far from over. After the win, Lesnar refused to let go Velasquez’s arm. He also demolished Velasquez with the steel chair and stopped only when Rey Mysterio forced him with his attack with the chair.
