Chris Jericho vs Darby Allin – Philadelphia Street Fight, AEW World Championship
Chris Jericho has been the backbone of AEW Dynamite so far. He has done passionate promos and has closed out both the shows till now. The emergence of the Inner Circle only adds to the dynamics of his fight against the Elites. Tonight, he will be facing an unorthodox opponent in Darby Allin. But what is Chris Jericho if not adaptable? It is hard to see that Jericho loses this match.
But the bigger question is whether they will have any sort of chemistry in this Philadelphia Street Fight. While Allin looks better when counter-attacking, Jericho is also depending more on it in recent times. Who will act as the aggressor here?
Riho vs Britt Baker – AEW Women’s Championship
While AEW is getting the plaudits for all the correct reasons, there Women’s division can be considered a project under development at best. Riho is obviously the most talented of them in the ring. But the major issue will be that she could not cut a promo. Is that the reason she is thrown to Britt Baker so early in her title reign? AEW would definitely not want Baker to take so many losses also. But it seems, she would take one in this match. I would have thought that it will not be the case if there would have been any build to this match.
Kemmy Omega & Adam Page vs Jon Moxley & PAC
The storylines between the four of these- Kenny Omega, Adam Page, Jon Moxley and PAC– are entwined finely with Kenny Omega at the center of it. Although, this is a match between two sets of stars- one which can take a loss and the other ones are untouchables. Kenny & Page are the ones which can take a loss in AEW while the company, by the looks of it, will keep Moxley and PAC undefeated for the time being. Will this theory proved right coming out of this match or we are in for a surprise?
AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Round 1 Matches
The Tag Team tournament will continue for the second week with two matches. SCU (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) will take on The Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Baretta). Another match will be between Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy) vs The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix). The first match of the tournament threw a curveball with the Private Party taking the win over the Young Bucks. Are we in for more surprises? Like Lucha Bros getting out of the tournament in the first round? Let’s wait and watch.
