Jack Hagger, earlier known as Jack Swagger in WWE, has made a surprise return with AEW on the premiere episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT.

The Elites had a bad day at AEW Dynamite’s debut episode at Capital One Arena in Washington DC. Cody Rhodes made a winning start by defeating Sammy Guevara in the first-ever match of AEW Dynamite. However, he was attacked by AEW World Champion Chris Jericho after the match, who left Cody motionless. Then, Adam Page was defeated by PAC at the end of the first hour of the episode.

Later, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks would face Chris Jericho, Ortiz and Santana in the main event of the night. After making a good start, Kenny Omega was attacked by Jon Moxley during the match. Moxley and Omega went on to brawl in the arena and the segment ended with Moxley hitting the Death Rider which took both of them through a glass table.

The Young Bucks, outnumber 2 to 3, were then easily defeated by Jericho and the team. Post-match, Cody came out to attack Jericho but got overpowered by the heels. Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara would also join the brawl before Jack Hagger made his surprise AEW debut. Hagger would quickly align himself with Jericho and went on to demolish the Elites.

Hagger is returning to the pro-wrestling ring for the first time since 2017. He has since gone on to work in Bellator MMA where he has won 2 matches without facing a defeat yet. The reports of Hagger being kept as a surprise came out earlier in the week. It is being reported that he is getting a big amount by AEW for his services.
