Starrcade event will once again return under WWE’s banner on 1 December 2019 at Infinite Energy Center in Duluth Georgia and will air on WWE Network as a one-hour special.
Starrcade used to be the premier event for NWA and WCW, equivalent to WWE’s WrestleMania when it was held between 1983 to 2000. Earlier a thanksgiving weekend tradition, the event was later moved to Christmas week after WWE started placing Survivor Series from 1987. After WWE brought WCW in 2001, the event was discontinued.
The event made its return in the year 2017 as the SmackDown branded live event show and took place at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC on 25 November 2017. In 2018, it was promoted as the co-branded event from both RAW and SmackDown and took place at US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio on 24 November 2018.
WWE Starrcade will yet again be featured during the Thanksgiving Weekend like the 2017 edition. The show air on WWE Network in 7-8 PM EST time slot and the arena programming starting at 6:30 PM EST. Tickets will be available at www.infiniteenergycenter.com from next Friday, 27 September at 10 am EST.
The event is once again promoted as the co-branded event and WWE has currently announced the following WWE Superstars to appear:
- WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins
- WWE Champion Kofi Kingston
- RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch
- SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley
- WWE United States Champion AJ Styles
- Roman Reigns
- Sasha Banks
- Charlotte Flair
- Daniel Bryan
