Velveteen Dream(c) vs Rodrick Strong vs Pete Dunne – Triple Threat Match, NXT North American Championship
Storyline- After unable to defeat Matt Riddle at Takeover: XXV, Rodrick Strong made a major statement when he pinned the North American Champion Velveteen Dream in a tag team match. This brought him to the forefront and made him the main challenger for the title. The twist came when Pete Dunne parachuted himself into this storyline. It was no brainer for William Regal to use Pete Dunne’s star power and book a triple threat match at Takeover: Toronto.
Prediction- NXT Takeover: Toronto 2019 is going to be the event where the Undisputed Era will Takeover NXT itself as they will capture all the titles. Pete Dunne is only added to increase the star power of the card and despite a good performance, is not likely to either win it or get pinned.
Io Shirai vs Candice LeRae
Storyline- After being frustrated with not being able to takedown Shayna Baszler, Io Shirai turned heel and went on to beat the hell of Candice LeRae who came out to help her out. As the weeks passed, Candice returned the favor as she forced Shirai to run away after her attack.
Prediction- Candice LeRae is more likely to win the match at NXT Takeover: Toronto 2019 and just might be the one who takes the title away from Shayna Baszler finally.
Adam Cole(c) vs Johnny Gargano – 2 out of 3 Falls (3 Stages of Hell) Match, NXT Championship
Storyline- Cole and Gargano headlined the last two Takeover shows with each of them taking a win each and in turn the title. After Cole won the championship at Takeover: XXV, he started a celebration tour which saw him going to Gargano’s hometown. He visited Gargano’s restaurant and put up a picture of himself there. And then went to Gargano’s Wrestling School and ridiculed all the budding wrestlers at the training center.
Gargano has had enough and attacked Cole as he looked to defend the NXT Championship against one of his students. NXT General Manager also got fed up of their feud and decided that they should end it in a trilogy and booked the mega 3 stages of hell match. Johnny Gargano has chosen the street fight as one of the stipulations while Cole chose a normal wrestling match as his stipulation. The third stipulation will be decided by Regal himself if required.
Prediction- All my predictions are based around the fact that the Undisputed Era will all have titles around their waist. Even if that does not hold true, Adam Cole is more likely to hold onto the title. He gets much more reaction than Gargano.
