After the IIconics ducked their title defense for some weeks now, the fatal 4-way match was announced prior to RAW last night. They also started the match on a very strong note, clearing all the other teams from the ring. But not for long though, as Sonya Deville made a comeback and combined with Mandy Rose to eliminate the champs. This guaranteed that a new champion is set to be crowned.

Next to be eliminated were Deville and Rose itself after a great showing as Mandy Rose was caught in the Asuka Lock and forced to tap out. Kabuki Warriors also looked to have sealed the match as Kairi Sane was about to go for the InSane Elbow. But a distracted referee and a cheap shot from Nikki Cross allowed Alexa Bliss to drop her with a rolling elbow strike. After a Twisted Bliss from the top rope, Alexa pinned Sane to become the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross are just the third WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions after the pair of Sasha Banks and Bayley and the IIconics. Interestingly, all the Women’s Tag Team title wins and changes have happened at multi-team matches. Sasha and Bayley won the title at the six-team Elimination Chamber match while the IIconics took the title away from them at WrestleMania in a triple threat tag team match.
