Extreme Rules 2019: AJ Styles Defeats Ricochet
AJ Styles has managed to defeat Ricochet at Extreme Rules to become 3 times WWE United States Champion.
The bell finally rings and Ricochet gets some offense in early on. Ricochet with a big dropkick. AJ suckers Ricochet in and sends him face-first into the turnbuckles. Ricochet with more offense and another dropkick to send AJ back down. AJ ends up turning it around on the outside after a distraction by Gallows. AJ launches Ricochet into the ring post and the referee counts. Style brings it back into the ring and keeps control for another two-count after launching Ricochet into the corner.
Ricochet hits Styles with a Step-Up Enzuigiri. Ricochet sends Styles to the corner and follows him there with a Shoulder. He hits Styles with a Flying Clothesline. Ricochet dives to the outside taking out Anderson and Gallows. He then hits the Lionsault on AJ Styles for a near fall. Ricochet hits Styles in the corner and then hits a Northern Lights Suplex followed by a Suplex for a near fall.
Ricochet is caught by Styles and is hit with the Argentine Backbreaker. The One and Only comes back and tries a Suplex, but Styles hits him instead and it’s into the turnbuckle. Ricochet rolls up Styles, but Styles reversed it and hit a Reverse DDT for a near fall. Styles lines up Ricochet for the Phenomenal Forearm but Ricochet avoids. It does not matter as Styles rolls up Ricochet. He then lines Ricochet up for a Styles Clash, but Ricochet rolls him up for another near fall.
The two hit each other with strikes in the middle of the ring. Styles hits the Pelle Kick and Ricochet comes back with a Spinning Neckbreaker. AJ came back and reversed the second Neckbreaker with a Brainbuster. Styles and Ricochet go to the top rope, but Ricochet knocks Styles down. Ricochet hangs Styles up on the rope.
He hits a Shooting Star off the rope for a near fall. Anderson drags Styles’ leg under the rope to break the pin. Ricochet deals with Anderson and goes to the top for another Shooting star press. Gallows trips him and he gets hung upside down. Styles hits the Styles Clash from the top rope and gets the three-count. AJ is the new United States Champion.
