Backstage, WWE Champion Kofi Kingston joins his buddies and congratulates the new champs. Kayla Braxton tries to get a word from them but Paul Heyman snatches a mic and walks out to the arena for a pop. We go to the stage and out comes Paul Heyman as an “ECW!” chant starts up. Heyman mentions Brock Lesnar being a soon-to-be champion.
Heyman says he is Philly, he is the concept of extreme, and he will be damned if he leaves Philly on an extreme show without being a part of history. He has a spoiler – Lesnar will cash in his Money In the Bank title shot on the WWE Champion or the WWE Universal Champion tonight. He then asks if he’s really telling the truth or is he just being Paul Heyman? Heyman tosses the mic and walks off as some fans boo the teaser. Cole says Heyman’s riddles on Lesnar cashing in have continued here tonight.
The Club – AJ Styles with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. WWE United States Champion Ricochet is out next. Gallows and Anderson beat Ricochet down before the bell. AJ backs them off after the attack. The referee checks on Ricochet but he says he’s good to go.
AJ Styles(w/ The Club) defeated Ricochet to become new WWE United States Champion
The bell finally rings and Ricochet gets some offense in early on. Ricochet with a big dropkick. AJ suckers Ricochet in and sends him face-first into the turnbuckles. Ricochet with more offense and another dropkick to send AJ back down. AJ ends up turning it around on the outside after a distraction by Gallows. AJ launches Ricochet into the ring post and the referee counts. Style brings it back into the ring and keeps control for another two-count after launching Ricochet into the corner.
Ricochet hits Styles with a Step-Up Enzuigiri. Ricochet sends Styles to the corner and follows him there with a Shoulder. He hits Styles with a Flying Clothesline. Ricochet dives to the outside taking out Anderson and Gallows. He then hits the Lionsault on AJ Styles for a near fall. Ricochet hits Styles in the corner and then hits a Northern Lights Suplex followed by a Suplex for a near fall.
Ricochet is caught by Styles and is hit with the Argentine Backbreaker. The One and Only comes back and tries a Suplex, but Styles hits him instead and it’s into the turnbuckle. Ricochet rolls up Styles, but Styles reversed it and hit a Reverse DDT for a near fall. Styles lines up Ricochet for the Phenomenal Forearm but Ricochet avoids. It does not matter as Styles rolls up Ricochet. He then lines Ricochet up for a Styles Clash, but Ricochet rolls him up for another near fall.
The two hit each other with strikes in the middle of the ring. Styles hits the Pelle Kick and Ricochet comes back with a Spinning Neckbreaker. AJ came back and reversed the second Neckbreaker with a Brainbuster. Styles and Ricochet go to the top rope, but Ricochet knocks Styles down. Ricochet hangs Styles up on the rope.
He hits a Shooting Star off the rope for a near fall. Anderson drags Styles’ leg under the rope to break the pin. Ricochet deals with Anderson and goes to the top for another Shooting star press. Gallows trips him and he gets hung upside down. Styles hits the Styles Clash from the top rope and gets the three-count. AJ is the new United States Champion.
Kevin Owens defeated Dolph Ziggler
Ziggler and Owens meet in the middle of the ring for some trash talking as the bell hits. Ziggler smacks Owens. KO hits the stunner on Ziggler. He gets the pinfall in 17 seconds.
After the match, KO takes the mic and cuts the promo. He says he still stands by everything he said in his promo on SmackDown last Tuesday. He expected to get fired or suspended when he showed up tonight, and that probably would have happened if Shane didn’t have to deal with The Undertaker earlier. After the Tombstone Shane took, he speaks for everyone else when he says Shane can kiss his ass and go straight to hell.
