Extreme Rules 2019 Predictions, Preview, Date, Start Time
Kofi Kingston (c) vs Samoa Joe – WWE Championship Match
Storyline- Samoa Joe was frustrated after losing the United States Championship to Ricochet. And he vented out that frustration with a beatdown on the WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. Once the match was set-up, they faced off as a part of 6-man tag team match where Joe put Kofi in the Coquina Clutch and made him pass out. They once again came face to face at SmackDown where Kofi rejected the peace proposal from Joe.
Prediction- While Samoa Joe looks more credible than Dolph Ziggler as the challenger for Kofi, but we don’t expect Kofi to lose the title here.
The Undertaker & Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon – No Holds Barred Match
Storyline- The beef between Shane McMahon and Roman Reigns goes as far back as Superstar Shakeup of this year. While the storyline between Reigns and Drew McIntyre goes back to Reigns’ return in February if not further back. The Undertaker was parachuted into this on the pretext that Shane McMahon’s ‘soul’ has become corrupt. Shane has added the ‘No Holds Barred’ stipulation to give himself some advantage.
Prediction- Again, one can think that WWE’s two biggest Superstar would lose their matches. But to think that they will lose in a tag team match at a PPV. Roman Reigns and the Undertaker to win.
Bayley(c) vs Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross– 2-on-1 Handicap Match, WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Preview– The Alexa-Nikki partnership started just before the Money in the Bank. Bayley won the MITB ladder match at the event but the partnership storyline clashed with Bayley’s title run as Alexa Bliss became the no. 1 contender. Bliss started manipulating Cross for her advantage. Bayley successfully defended the title against Bliss at Stomping Grounds.
Cross was in Bliss’ booth at the match and was even blamed for the loss when she came into the ring during the match. However, Bliss once manipulated her to defeat Bayley to get another title shot. Bayley and Cross once again competed in a Beat the Clock challenge to decide the stipulation for the match. Once again, Cross came on top and decided to make it a 2-on-1 handicap contest.
Prediction- This story is becoming more about Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. So the question will be whether they will feud with a title or without it. A major women’s feud without a title is unheard of, hence Alexa Bliss might take the title here.
Aleister Black vs Cesaro
Storyline- Ever since Aleister Black was split from Ricochet and moved to SmackDown, WWE started some airing some video promos. Not only the theme of those videos dark, but Black kept throwing out an open challenge for anyone to knock on his door to pick a fight. His wish was granted when someone knocked on his door two weeks back. But the identity of the intruder remained unknown until Cesaro revealed himself this week.
Prediction- So much of time is invested by WWE to hype Aleister Black. Hence, it would be impossible that he would lose this match.
The Revival(c) vs The Usos – RAW Tag Team Championship Match
Storyline- This feud started back in April and the teams have faced off in a various combination of tag team matches from elimination, 8 man tag, 2 out of 3 falls, triple threat tag matches, etc. The booking has also been 50-50. But the Revival managed to take off the RAW Tag Team Championship title from Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. The Usos also part of that match and in fact, it was the Usos who set up the Champions for the win and the Revival sneaked a win from under their nose.
Prediction- The Revival will retain the title here because they have not signed a new contract yet, and WWE would try to entice them using those titles.
