The Iiconics vs Asuka & Kairi Shane Women's Tag Team Championship Extreme Rules 2019

Two weeks ago on SmackDown, Paige told WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The IIconics that the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) will face them at WWE Live Event in Tokyo, Japan. And if Kabuki would defeat them, the teams will face each other for the titles next.

Asuka and Sane were able to defeat the champions at yesterday’s live event in Tokyo which confirms their title match. However, the exact date is unknown at this time, it is most likely to take place at WWE’s Extreme Rules 2019 show.

After Kairi Sane was moved from NXT to the main roster, she was teamed up with former SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka. Paige introduced the team back in April after WrestleMania. Later, in May, the Kabuki Warriors name was given to them.

This also led to some criticism towards WWE as ‘Kabuki’ is a Japanese dance form which is mainly performed by male performers. However, Paige informed that the name was actually picked by Asuka and Sane itself and WWE did not have anything to do with it.
