Storyline:

The feud between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre started as soon as Roman Reigns returned from his battle with Leukemia in February. They faced off at WrestleMania were Roman for the win. At that point, the feud seemed to over. However, McIntyre became the henchman for Shane McMahon and the tussle restarted. They faced-off as per typical WWE tag team matches and in several brawls in the lead up for the match.

Match Description:

McIntyre catches Roman during his entrance and the two start brawling. Roman sends him to the barricade and brings him to the ring as the bell rings. Soon, he throws Drew McIntyre out of the ring and hits a huge suicide dive on McIntyre. Roman Reigns chases Shane McMahon but the distraction allows Drew McIntyre to hit him with a huge uppercut. He, then, sends Reigns into the steel steps and gets a two count with a belly to belly suplex.

Roman tries to fight back but McIntyre knocks him back down with an elbow to the face. Roman reverses a suplex to give himself some time to recover. Shane takes a cheap shot behind the referee’s back. Drew hits a snap suplex from the mat for a two count. McIntyre hits a stiff clothesline for another near fall. He locks Reigns in submission and keeps him there for a long time. Roman breaks free and they start trading strikes.

Roman hits the Samoan drop and takes McIntyre down with a clothesline. He hits another clothesline in the corner followed by a Big Boot. He blasts Shane off of the apron with a Superman punch and hits a second from the steps. McIntyre dodges the drive-by and hits the reverse Alabama Slam on the announce table. He brings him back to the ring and hits the Sidewalk slam to get a nearfall. McIntyre tries to hit the superplex and succeeds after they traded some strikes on the turnbuckle. After another nearfall, McIntyre gets ready for the Claymore but Roman counters only to get hit by the Glasgow kiss. McIntyre goes to the top for an elbow drop but eats a Superman punch.

After a few counters, McIntyre hits another Glasgow kiss but eats the spear. The referee starts the count but Shane pulls him out of the ring. Shane comes in and hits the coast to coast dropkick. He rolls the ref back in to make the count. McIntyre covers Roman but only gets a two count. Reigns recovers, sends Shane out of the ring and hits Drew with a Spear for the pin and the win.
