Lars Sullivan Out for 6 Months After Knee Surgery

Lars Sullivan has reportedly undergone a surgery yesterday on his injured knee and is expected to remain out for 6 to 9 months.

Dave Meltzer reported the surgery on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Earlier, the injury was considered normal and it occurred when Sullivan was just doing something routine. However, an MRI revealed that the injury was more severe. Now, coming out of knee surgery, it is now reported that Lars Sullivan could be out for 6-9 months, which could mean he will be back in December or around WrestleMania 36 season.

Lars Sullivan last worked against the Lucha House Party on last week’s RAW following his win over them in his debut match at WWE Super ShowDown. Rumors have it that Lars was set to face Matt Hardy on last week’s SmackDown, but the match was canceled due to the injury.

Lars Sullivan had a strong run in NXT and was called upon for the main roster. Even before his main roster, the controversy over his racist comments on message board platform from around 2010 came to the forefront. Then, he was supposed to attack John Cena during on his debut in January this year. But, he reportedly suffered an anxiety attack and his debut was postponed until after WrestleMania.

Lars Sullivan started attacking other WWE wrestlers starting from Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth to Hardy Boyz after WrestleMania. He is even credited with injuring Jeff Hardy, before entering in a feud with Lucha House Party. During the same time, the controversy related to his past comments reignited which lead to WWE fining him for $100,000.

With Sullivan unable to string a run, it will remain to be seen if WWE still remains bullish regarding his push.
