NXT Takeover 25 Bridgeport Live Results & Updates

1. Shayna Baszler(c) vs Io Shirai – NXT Women’s Championship

Shayna Baszler vs Io Shirai NXT Women's Championship NXT Takeover: Bridgeport

Storyline- Shayna Baszler has completed 200+ days in her second reign as the NXT Women’s Champion and during that time, she has terrorized the Women’s Locker room alongside the fellow Horsewomen Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. Io Shirai is the only one who was able to stand up to them during these beatdowns. The first time was prior to Takeover: New York and then while making the save on Kairi Sane in her last NXT match. She did not even let them breathe in the Performance Center with her continuous interruptions during their training.

Prediction- As I said earlier, Baszler has already completed 200 days as the champion after 133 days reign in her first run, it might be time for her to drop the belt. I expected Shirai to win the title at last Takeover and she might actually get over the line this time around.

2. Velveteen Dream(c) vs Tyler Breeze – NXT North American Championship

Velveteen Dream vs Tyler Breeze NXT North American Championship NXT Takeover: Bridgeport

Storyline- This is an ‘out of nowhere’ feud. Velveteen Dream did not have any credible challenger after his feud with Matt Riddle was dropped and Dominick Dijakovic got injured. The Prince Pretty was not getting TV time in the main roster anyway but will definitely add some star power to the Takeover card. He came in last week to call Dream’s character a knock-off of his own and ended the segment by decking him.

Prediction- Breeze’s return to NXT seems to be a temporary one and he is being used to enhance Dream’s reputation. There is no doubt in my mind that Dream will win this one.
