8. Seth Rollins(c) vs AJ Styles – WWE Universal Championship
Storyline- AJ Styles won the triple threat match against Rey Mysterio and Samoa Joe before winning the no. 1 contender’s match against Baron Corbin to become the first person to challenge Seth Rollins in his Universal title reign. Although the story started with mutual respect, the things have turned sore since with Styles getting the upper hand continuously. First, he sent Rollins through the table after their contract signing and later mistakenly hit him with another phenomenal forearm last week.
Prediction- A loss will detrimental to both of them, just like the Women’s championship and WWE Championship, I do not see WWE taking off the title off Rollins just yet. Probably, the match will end in a controversial finish with interference to protect Styles here. Rollins to win.
9. The Miz vs Shane McMahon – Steel Cage Match
Storyline- Shane McMahon turned from best friend to worst foe at Fastlane after Miz was pinned in back to back matches. Miz dominated their match at WrestleMania but Shane won the match accidentally. The storyline continued after that as Miz kept searching for opportunities to beat up Shane. It was Miz only who put the challenge of the Steel Cage match also.
Prediction- It might be unthinkable, but I am predicting Shane to win again. It might again be accidental as has happened in so many of past steel cage matches but it will be Shane to come out victorious from it.
10. Roman Reigns vs Elias
Storyline- As Roman Reigns was moved to SmackDown, his first act was to deck Vince McMahon and Elias with superman punch. Shane being ‘a good son’ has been trying to make Roman’s life a living hell ever since. With Elias in toe along with a roster full of heels, he has tried to take down Roman week after week. Sometimes he has been successful while other times he had to run away. After one such takedown, Elias was the one who put forward the challenge which was promptly accepted by Roman. The Miz-Shane storyline was also combined with this one in last two weeks which has seen a couple of tag team matches being thrown into the mix.
Prediction- Elias may be on the upswing but it is hard to see him win against the Big Dog. It is a classic situation which has happened many times with Cena also where WWE needs to boast someone but end up burying them with a loss against the face of the company. Elias might not get buried here but he will lose to Roman here.
11. Daniel Bryan and Rowan vs The Usos – SmackDown Tag Team Championship
Storyline- Daniel Bryan returned to WWE after a brief hiatus due to an injury. As soon he was back, Shane McMahon wanted to bestow him and Rowan with the vacant SmackDown tag team titles. The Usos convinced Shane that Bryan and Rowan should earn the titles in a match against them. Rowan and Bryan ran through the Usos to win the title. These teams also faced off at SmackDown again during the 4-on-3 handicapped match.
Prediction- Number 1. The Usos are currently in RAW. 2. Why would WWE crown Daniel Bryan a champion just to take the title away from him? Bryan and Rowan will retain the title.
