Fastlane 2019: Sonya Deville costs Mandy Rose match against Asuka
SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka was able to defend her title against Mandy Rose at Fastlane 2019 on 10 March in one of the weird finishes which could lead to Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose splitting.
After Mandy Rose was able to pin Asuka in a match at SmackDown three weeks ago, she was granted a shot SmackDown Women’s Championship title. Mandy was able to put up a much better performance than expected but she was visibly frustrated when Asuka kicked out of a pin. At the ringside, Sonya Deville has pulled up the apron cloth as she was searching for a kendo stick. As Asuka threw Mandy at the ropes, Mandy slipped and Asuka hit a superkick on her to get the pin.
After the match, Sonya tried to apologize to Mandy for her costing her the match, but Mandy was having none of it and left with Sonya trailing her, still trying to apologize. The segment indicated the split in between Mandy and Sonya and we might see both of them competing for the SD Women’s title at WrestleMania against Asuka.
