Kenny Omega signs with AEW

Kenny Omega has officially announced that he has signed with AEW(All Elite Wrestling) on Thursday night at AEW’s Double or Nothing Ticket Announcement Party in Las Vegas, Nevada. Omega joins an AEW as the Executive Vice President and full-time wrestler. AEW’s roster also includes the likes of Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes(Executive Vice President), The Young Bucks – Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson(Executive Vice President), SoCal Uncensored, Adam Page, PAC- Joey Janela, Jimmy Havoc, Fenix, Pentagon Jr and Britt Baker.

Omega is a Canadian wrestler who has spent the last fours years in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he was a Junior Heavyweight Champion, the leader of Bullet Club and then IWGP Heavyweight Championship. His contract with NJPW ended at the end of January and he last made an appearance for them at WrestleKingdom 13 on January 4 when he dropped the title to Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event of the Tokyo Dome show.

It is a massive signing for AEW but not a surprising one given his connection’s to Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Adam Page as part of The Elite faction. Omega also worked at Rhodes and the Bucks’ first self-promoted event, All In, back on September 1 in a match with Pentagon Jr. Omega will take the same position as Rhodes and the Young Bucks duo as the Executive Vice President in AEW.

In their Ticket Announcement Party in Las Vegas for their “Double or Nothing” event, AEW has also announced the match between Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho among many matches. Omega was addressing to the crowd at the rally when Jericho interrupted him which led to a staring contest and a brawl.
