Three Superstars released by WWE

WWE announced the release of three wrestlers yesterday. Although two of the releases were not that surprising, the most shocking of them all is the release of TJP.

TJP in his second stint with WWE, won the inaugural Cruiserweight Classic Tournament in 2016 to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. But, after defending the title once successfully, he lost it to Brain Kendrick and slowly slipped down the card. Later he was involved in a feud with Lucha House Party, first teaming with Drew Gulak and Jack Gallagher and later with the Kanellis couple. TJP also took part in the first World’s Collide tournament but was eliminated in the first round itself. He is now expected to go back to the independent circuit.

While the other two, Hideo Itami and Tye Dillinger asked for the release themselves. Tye Dillinger was with WWE for 5 and a half years in his second stint with the company, the last two of those on the main roster. Hideo Itami also worked with WWE for 5 years in NXT and 205 Live rosters. WWE agreed to release Hideo Itami in January itself but has confirmed officially now.
